Parents outplayed by Chelford children
The first ever Chelford CE Primary Children vs. Parents Football match was a roaring success. After a full time draw of 7 all, the children won 3-2 on penalties!

Robert Massey (Parent Governor) who organised the event would like to thank everyone who helped, donated sports equipment to the school or volunteered to take part.

It appears that dog owners in Chelford are being considerate and responsible and picking up their dogs' poo. However, many then don't take the full poo bag home.

THERE IS NO CHELFORD POO FAIRY WHO PICKS UP FULL POO BAGS.

So please take your dog's waste home and dispose of it there. Thank You.

Congratulations to all at Chelford School for an excellent OFSTED report
Chelford CE Primary School was inspected by OFSTED on the 27 - 28th March 2012, with two days notice.

The inspector judged the 'overall effectiveness' of the school as 'good' under the much tougher, new OFSTED regime. This high level of achievement was also found in all the OFSTED judgement categories. The inspector was particularly enthusiastic about the 'outstanding progress' she observed in both classes.

The highest credit for this well deserved result is owed to the teaching and support staff directed by the excellent management skills of Headteacher, Alison Scott.

The OFSTED inspection has been followed with one from the Diocese which again was very positive.

Below are quotes from the full OFSTED report which can be viewed
on line or you can request a copy from Headteacher, Mrs Alison Scott, T: 01625 861351, e-mail: head@chelford.cheshire.sch.uk

"Parents and carers are unanimous that their children are taught well and the inspector agrees. Good and outstanding teaching is evident in both classes."

"The Headteacher provides strong and determined leadership. She is ably assisted by a committed teaching and support team and knowledgeable governing body."

"The current curriculum provides a good grounding in the basic skills of English and mathematics, offers a broad range of enrichment activities including artistic, sporting and cultural events and successfully promotes pupils’ good spiritual, moral, social and cultural development."

"Strengths in teaching ensure that overall attainment by the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 is above average ."

Sports News

Congratulations to Vicky Saunders and Susan Michell who finished the Manchester marathon in appalling weather conditions in 4.37.56 and 4.54.42 (net times). A truly heroic effort.

Also congratulations to Dima Rukazenkov (2nd from right standing) who played with his Warrington based Basketball team in the under 14s National League Quarter finals in London. Unfortunately, the team lost 68/75 but an extremely good effort to get so far.
